Position Announcement: Research Analyst

Anne Arundel Community College is seeking a research analyst in its Planning, Research & Institutional Assessment department.

Duties and responsibilities:
Manage PRIA Qualtrics accounts and provide consulting services within the college as needed in the areas of survey design and analysis. Use relevant and appropriately sophisticated research methods to conduct research and analysis. Conduct and manage surveys for compliance with state and federal survey and reporting requirements, in addition to assisting with required federal and state data submission projects.
Support the college data analysis and planning through design, development, and maintenance of Tableau dashboards in the areas of enrollment, student success, equity index, strategic planning activities, program review, and others. Perform data analysis and forecasting to support research and planning activities using appropriate software and statistical techniques. Assist in coordinating and maintaining dashboard schedules, and collaborating with IT and Tableau reps on necessary updates.
Co-manage the Office's AskPRIA email account and respond to data requests received by the office. Manage data analysis related to instructional costs and productivity.
Complete analysis to support the AACC Strategic Plan initiatives as assigned, including written analysis of data and interpretation of results. Design infographics, charts, and figures to be used in reports and presentations shared with campus constituencies such as survey reports and research briefs.
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director and the AVP.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher
Minimum of three years of related experience, with higher education experience preferred.
Ability to gather, compile, and analyze research data in a variety of formats. Experience working with large data sets required, including building queries as well as creating and merging reports from multiple systems.
Strong computer skills, including considerable experience with data visualization and statistical analysis software such as Tableau, Power BI, SPSS and SAS, are required.
Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex analysis to a non-technical audience. Experience in developing and making presentations.
Strong problem solving skills with ability to: respond to information requests quickly and on short notice; work effectively, both independently and within a team environment; work in a fast-paced environment with attention to details and deadlines; and maintain state-of-the-art technical skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree with training or experience in statistics, research methodology, or predictive analytics.
Five years of relevant higher education experience
Experience developing and maintaining Tableau dashboards.
Experience working in an integrated relational database environment.
Experience gathering workforce and occupation market data from public and private sources, such as the US Bureau of Labor Statistics or Emsi Analyst.
