The Registrar’s Office is accepting applications for the position of Residency, Reenrollment & Special Programs Coordinator.

The purpose of this position is to:

• Review and evaluate In-State Residency Petitions

• Assist with Reenrollment & Special Registration Programs

• Utilize technology to run and improve processes


Responsibilities and Duties

This position is responsible for managing all aspects required to make determinations for in-state residency tuition status, and serving as the Registrar Office's main point-of-contact for residency-related inquiries for the continuing graduate and undergraduate student population.


Exercise independent judgment and initiative with limited supervision while performing a full range of administrative duties related to the day-to-day operations in the residency office while projecting a professional, knowledgeable, and positive image of the University. The Coordinator must handle sensitive and highly confidential documents with care and comply with University, FERPA, and USM tuition policies at all times. Attend relevant meetings regarding residency policy at the University or other residency-related meetings hosted locally by USM. Maintain solid understanding and enforcement of the USM Board of Regents’ Policy on Student Classification for Admission and Tuition Purposes.

Manage Dream Act and DACA student populations. Update PeopleSoft and Salesforce as needed based upon residency status determinations. Run queries to verify residency data is complete and accurate. Troubleshoot any issues with the online Residency Petition form and work with IT to make updates to the form when policy changes occur.

Evaluate residency statuses for undergraduate and graduate students applying for readmission to the University. Assist with the processing of online reenrollment applications in Salesforce and Peoplesoft Campus Solutions. Must be knowledgeable regarding all academic policy related to reenrollment including grade calculation, warning/suspensions/dismissal policy, catalog policy, non-degree/degree candidate standing, etc. Schedule reenrolled students for registration and set advising holds. Provide support for reenrollment outreach and marketing efforts.

Assist with special registration programs, including National Student Exchange, Nursing Associate-to-Bachelor's, Study Abroad, Study Away, and Freshmen Transition Program. Process registration, paperwork, grade posting, transcript notations, and all other administrative aspects of these programs including participating in off-campus meetings when necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

Successful candidates will have...

Bachelor’s degree
At least two years of professional experience providing administrative support or working in a higher education setting.
Ability to pay high attention to detail
Ability to review detailed information and make impactful decisions
Technical proficiency and familiarity with a variety of software packages
Preferred

Knowledge of PeopleSoft (SIS), Perceptive Content (imaging), Salesforce (CRM), Chat, DocuSign, and FormsAssembly a plus
Registrar, Bursar, or Financial Aid higher education experience
