Title: Dual Enrollment Program Manager
Institution: Prince George’s Community College

What do you do at your institution?

I am the Dual Enrollment Program Manager at Prince George’s Community College in the Office of Recruitment and Admissions.  I coordinate the general dual enrollment programs that allow high school juniors and seniors to enroll in college classes.  To do my job, I get to work with most high schools in Prince George’s County and nearly every office at PGCC to lead the design and execution of the full student enrollment process for nearly 2000 students annually.  I also contribute to other Recruitment and Admissions activities such as new student orientation, dual enrollment student matriculation, and other general recruitment events.

What is your favorite quote, motto, or mantra?

My favorite work-related quote is “you don’t know what you don’t know.”

This is the foundation of how I approach customer service to students.  I always try to take the time to understand what a student really needs (compared to what they may think they need!) and anticipate their subsequent needs or questions so they don’t have to keep coming back for further assistance.

What do you like about working at your institution?

The people!  That includes both colleagues and students.  I have awesome coworkers in Recruitment and Admissions and the best team ever working on dual enrollment.  Our students are amazing too and it is such an honor to work to provide them with a high-quality college experience.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I love hiking, going out to eat with friends, listening to audiobooks, and crocheting in my free time!

What's something interesting you've done or accomplished during the pandemic?

I’ve finished A LOT of crochet projects, everything from hats to baby blankets to baskets!
